Hi Mahendra I approached the question by multiply 300* 12, I got 3600 inches this divided by 6*6 gives me 100 tiles, only If I multiply this by 12 inches I am getting 1200

Can you help me with where I am going wrong.

      Hi Aswin,

The $300$ you obtained is the area of the floor in square feet. To convert from square feet to square inches, you have to multiply by $12 \times 12$. This is because $1$ square feet is equal to $144$ square inches, whereas one linear feet is equal to $12$ inches.

      I hope this makes sense.
